Doctor in Production Engineering from PUC-Rio, Post-Doctorate at the University of Münster – Germany. Master in Logistics at PUC-Rio and Master in Demography (Diplôme d’Études Approfondies – DEA) at the Institut de Démographie – Université de Paris I – Sorbonne-Nouvelle. Graduation in Political Sciences (Diplôme d’Études Politiques – Major in Political and Social studies – International Relations) at the Institut d’Études Politiques – University of Bordeaux III. He is currently a Professor of the Department of Industrial Engineering (DEI) at PUC-Rio, coordinates the Professional Master in Logistics and the lato sensu disciplines of DEI, is president of the Global Manufacturing Research Group (GMRG), member of the Fiscal Council of the Brazilian Association of Production Engineering (ABEPRO), associate editor of the journal Gestão & Produção and guest editor of the journal Sustainability. He is a Researcher at the Brazilian Center for Scientific Studies (CNPq) and the Foundation for Research Support of the State of Rio de Janeiro (FAPERJ). He was a researcher affiliated with the Portuguese Catholic University – Economy and Management – Porto (2014-2020), associate for Logistics and Information Systems with Cambridge Consulting Corporation, associate with the Population Council, Deputy Director of Westinghouse Electric Corporation, and Superintendent at CONAPES – Family Welfare in Brazil. He was a member of the Brazilian National Program of Tuberculosis Control, the Parliamentary Commission for Population and Development, and the United Nations Economic and Social Council for the Africa region. His interests are in research on Sales and Operations Planning, Supply Chain Integration and Collaboration, Sustainability and Innovation, and Methodology of Empirical Research in Operations Management and Production Engineering, with more than 50 articles published in journals such as the International Journal of Production Economics, International Journal of Production Research, International Journal of Operations & Production Management, International Journal of Physical Distribution & Logistics Management, Production Planning and Control, Industrial Management and Data Systems, International Journal of Project Management, Clean Technologies and Environmental Policy, International Journal of Production and Productivity Management, Resources Conservation and Recycling. Co-author of the most cited article in the last three years (2020, 2021, 2022) of Production Planning & Control, “Conducting systematic literature review in operations management.” Coordinator of projects sponsored by research promotion agencies in Brazil (e.g., CAPES, CNPq, and FAPERJ) and abroad (e.g., University of Manitoba – Canada, University of Münster – Germany), as well as for industry. His h index is 21 in Scopus and 26 in Google Scholar.
